Carlos Alcaraz completed his second preparatory session at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club on Saturday. The tennis star, who trained on Friday with Lorenzo Musetti, practiced one day later with Cameron Norrie.
Before his practice, the Spaniard gave several interviews to the most important Argentinian media in which he discussed about La Albiceleste’s triumph at the 2022 World Cup and hailed Lionel Messi.
“[Roger] Federer is the Messi of tennis because of the ease with which he plays,” he told Ole.
“Messi was the superhero in the World Cup and he practically played for the whole country so that Argentina would be consecrated in Qatar”.
In a conversation with LA NACION, the World No.2 acknowledged his admiration for Federer.
“I loved his tennis,” Alcaraz noted.
“I loved watching him play. I was watching his highlights all day long, watching matches”.
Alcaraz‘s presence has filled the tournament courts in Argentina with curious onlookers eager to witness the natural replacement of the tennis’ ‘Big Three’.
On Saturday, many fans climbed up to the top of the center court to be able to watch Alcaraz, who was training on court 12 of the Lawn Tennis Club.
There are no tickets left to watch his debut on Wednesday, February 15, against the winner of the duel between Fabio Fognini and Laslo Djere. The center court’s capacity is 5,000.
