In the event that Tommy Fury is unable to compete on February 26 for any reason, UFC veteran Mike Perry will step in, according toJake Paul.
The YouTuber announced during the press conference he organized to publicize his fight with Tommy, “We have Mike Perry waiting. Mike Perry, hurry up! Yes, he is prepared to enter if Tommy withdraws.”
Perry has a 14-8 record in mixed martial arts. He has dropped four of his previous five UFC fights. His employment with the business came to an end on April 10, 2021, the final time he appeared inside the Octagon.
His fight with Kenneth McNeil in March 2015 ended in a fourth-round knockout, therefore this won’t be his boxing debut. At the Bare Knuckle Fight Championship, he has already competed in two matches and won both of them.
This fight has been in the works for several months. The match had to be called off both times because Fury’s injuries prohibited him from competing the first time, and because of issues with his visa to enter the United States the second time.
Mike Perry would be the fourth MMA fighter to go against Jake Paul
Mike Perry would be the fourth mixed martial arts rival to face Jake Paul, since in the past he fought against Ben Askren, twice against Tyron Woodley and the last one was Anderson Silva.
“A part of me definitely doubts it,” Jake Paul said about Tommy Fury showing up on February 26. “And he’s scared and he’s disgusting. And the fact that he didn’t show up for the one-on-one that we were supposed to do, he sucks. The type is not necessarily profitable. But money is good for him, so he would be foolish.”
