De Rossi’s SPAL looking to pick up Nainggolan

SPAL are in close contact with Radja Nainggolan as they look to pick up the former Roma midfielder on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old Belgian’s time with Royal Antwerp came to an abrupt end after he was seen smoking an e-cigarette on the bench during a 3-0 loss to Standard Liege back in October. He had scored six goals and provided five assists across 55 appearances for the club following his return from Italy in August 2021.

Gianluca Di Marzio details how SPAL have been in contact with Nainggolan to discuss a possible move, with Daniele De Rossi’s side keen to reinforce their midfield with the experienced Belgian.

De Rossi knows the 34-year-old well from their time together in the Italian capital and suggested that he’d be happy to work with the player again should he join the Serie B side.

Nainggolan has made 367 Serie A appearances throughout his career, scoring 48 goals and providing 35 assists.
