Kate Middleton looked stunning in a burgundy suit for the reception she had at Hampton Court with some players of England’s wheelchair rugby team.
The Ronald Mouret outfit had been previously used by the Princess of Wales, during her visit to Boston last year alongside Prince William.
She also wore a similar colored outfit to her last month’s Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey, and on that night, Princess Charlotte, Pippa Middleton and Zara Tindall wore the same color, which appears to contradict what was said by Meghan Markle during the Netflix docuseries about the Dutch and Duchess of Sussex.
What did Meghan Markle say about the Royal dressing code
Coincidentally the event was on the same day that the second episode of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix special.
Markle claimed during the episode that she had to stop wearing different colors to avoid matching the Queen or other women from the Royal Family with a higher ranking than her.
“Most of the time I was in the UK, I rarely wore colour. To my understanding, you can’t ever wear the same colour as Her Majesty if there’s a group event but then you also shouldn’t be wearing the same colour as one of the other more senior members of the family,” Meghan explains in the docuseries.
Markle also added that she started wearing light colors like camel, beige and white, adding she didn’t want to step on anybody’s toes.
‘I wore a lot of muted tones but it was also so I could just blend in. I’m not trying to stand out here.”
