Brittney Griner celebrates MLK day with fans, is all smiles taking pictures

It’s no secret that Brittney Griner went through a grueling ordeal in her 294 days of detainment in Russia. Little by little, the 6’9 WNBA star has reacquainted herself back into life back home with her wife Cherelle. And today marked her first appearance in public with fans.

The basketball star was all smiles taking pictures in Phoenix, where she partook in Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrations. It’s no surpise that Griner would choose Arizona to make her first public appearance, as it’s where she’s played throughout her entire WNBA career, ever since she was drafted in 2013.

Brittney Griner says she’s “happy to be home”
