Borussia Mönchengladbach does not want to let Marcus Thuram go this winter. Unless a high proposal, the leaders of the German club will retain him until the end of his contract.
In recent months, rumors have multiplied regarding the future of Marcus Thuram. The Les Bleus striker has been associated with many clubs, particularly in England, Germany and Spain. Barça, Bayern Munich and Chelsea have notably been linked to his name. But, unless there is an important proposal, the Frenchman should not actually benefit from an exit voucher.
“You can never exclude anything in this profession, but…”
“At this level, you can never be sure before the transfer window closes. But we have clearly expressed our point of view. He is a key player for us and we have no intention of giving up any of our quality players. I don’t think there are many clubs that particularly appeal to him. You can never rule anything out in this job, but I’m very, very sure he’s going to have a very good second half of the season for us.”, explained his trainer Daniel Farke at a press conference. Borussia Mönchengladbach does not want to part with him.
Marcus Thuram has scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 17 appearances in all competitions this season. His contract only runs until June 2023, which means that the striker is already free to sign with the club he wants in view of the summer transfer window.
As a reminder, the native of Parma participated in the World Cup with the Blues this fall. The player currently totals 9 selections. He failed to score, but notably delivered 2 assists. The first against Poland, in the round of 16, and the second against Argentina, in the final.
