Ja Morant is continuing to show that he is one of the best players in the NBA and had another special performance in the Memphis Grizzlies‘ 130-112 win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.
The 23-year-old scored 23 points, gave out 10 assists and wowed the crowd with his latest epic dunk.
In this case, he started from deep, dribbled inside and finished emphatically over Jalen Smith.
“I ain’t seen nothing like that one, that’s probably going to go down as dunk of the year,” said his teammate Desmond Bane, who scored 25 points of his own during the victory.
Praise for Ja Morant
After executing that dunk, social media went wild and Morant was praised by fans, pundits and players, both current and former.
The Brooklyn Net’s Kevin Durant was one of those who reacted, taking to Twitter to share various photos of tears.
Magic Johnson has also been praising Morant‘s dunking ability in recent weeks.
“This is why Ja Morant is the most exciting player in the NBA today,” the former LA Laker said.
“Morant is in the MVP conversation and has the Memphis Grizzlies positioned as one of the best teams in the West!”
The hope is that he’ll commit to taking part in the 2023 NBA Dunk Contest, at the upcoming All-Star Game in Salt Lake City.
