Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will become a free agent at the end of this season and there is a lot of speculation about what his next team will be, according to a press report, the destination could be his origin as he could return to his first NFL team, the New England Patriots.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner, who won his first six Vince Lombardi Trophies with Bill Belichick and the Pats, could return for his 24th NFL season, according to New England insider Jeff Howe of The Athletic.
Why might Tom Brady return to play for the Patriots?
“The Patriots are slated to have more than $50 million in cap space in 2023, so they can again address their flaws, this time on the heels of a couple impressive draft classes,” Howe said. “Brady and Bill Belichick still have an abundance of respect for one another. They’ve made points to say it publicly on multiple occasions since the QB departed for Tampa. They also spent 23 minutes together in the visiting locker room at Gillette Stadium following Brady’s return in 2021 – an appointment they set up prior to the game.”
In his last moments with the Pats, Brady and Belichick’s relationship was reported to have broken down, however, a few weeks ago the head coach praised the quarterback, who congratulated the former defensive coordinator of the New York Giants for becoming the second winningest coach in NFL history during one of his appearances on the Let’s Go! Podcast.
Tom Brady doesn’t have to live in Florida with Gisele Bündchen anymore
Another clue that could bring TB12 closer to the Patriots is that the 45-year-old is no longer married to Brazilian top model Gisele Bündchen, so he would no longer be tied to living in Florida, where the former Victoria’s Secret Angel resides with her children Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9.
