In the wake of the resounding announcement of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure, Manchester United have made another equally strong revelation. The English club is officially for sale.

Old Trafford, Manchester United

As the 2022 World Cup in Qatar began, Manchester United is at the heart of the news. As an immediate consequence of Cristiano Ronaldo’s sensational statements during his interview with journalist Piers Morgan, in which his criticism of the Red Devils and Dutch coach Erik ten Hag caused consternation and strong reactions, the English club announced the departure of the Portuguese striker. But Manchester United didn’t just seal the deal for the former Real Madrid player. In the aftermath, the Old Trafford-based club has indicated that its owner is now ready to sell. At the head of Manchester United since 2005, the Glazer family say they are listening to offers for a takeover.

To change “for the team to find success”

“Manchester United can confirm to you today that the club’s board are beginning to look at various strategic alternatives for the team to return to success. The purpose of implementing this process is to facilitate the growth of the club, in order to best position the club in terms of capitalizing on opportunities, whether on the field or off it, commercially. In order to achieve such achievement, the council considers all sorts of strategies; new investments, sales or other transactions involving the company. This includes an ongoing assessment of several initiatives to strengthen the club including a redevelopment of infrastructure and the stadium, as well as an expansion of the club’s commercial operations globally. All these operations will obviously be part of a desire to increase the level of all our men’s, women’s and youth teams, in order to allow benefits for fans and shareholders.
