Chris Herndon: Tight end is suspended for the rest of the 2022 season by the NFL

Chris Herndon’s terrible season just took another turn and the free agent tight end has now been suspended by the NFL for eight games or the rest of the 2022 season, according to several reports.

The reason for Herndon’s suspension wasn’t announced.

This isn’t Chris Herndon’s first suspension

In 2019, while playing for the New York Jets, Chris Herndon was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policies on substance abuse after pleading guilty earlier for DWI, when he crashed a 76 year old man’s car in Rockaway Township, New Jersey the year prior, when he was drafted to the league.

Chris Herndon hasn’t had the career he hoped for

In 2018, Chris Herndon left Miami for New York after being drafted by the Jets in the fourth round of that year’s draft and in his rookie season he had 39 catches for 502 yards and four touchdowns, but that’s been the highlight of his career as due to his suspension and several injuries he just grabbed 31 passes for less than 300 yards and three touchdowns before being traded to the Vikings alongside a sixth round draft pick in exchange for a fourth round draft pick.

In one year with Minnesota he managed to score one touchdown in four passes caught, with 40 total yards.

This season he signed with the Saints but was released just three weeks later and has been a free agent throughout this whole season.
