According to a recent book, Prince Andrew allegedly “lobbied” Queen Elizabeth II to prevent Charles from becoming king of England.
Angela Levin’s explosive biography “Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: From Outcast to Future Queen Consort,” Andrew allegedly conspired to prevent Charles from becoming king before the queen passed away with the help of Princess Diana and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
The biography of Camilla claims that Andrew vehemently opposed the union of Charles and Camilla, who are currently the king and queen consort.
William would have been in line for the throne instead of Andrew, who is currently chief corgi protector, but only if the queen had died before William turned 18, according to the book.
Levin, who has written numerous biographies of members of the royal family, attributes the information to a “top insider” who claimed Andrew and Diana allegedly planned to “push Prince Charles aside.”
“When Diana was alive, through her friendship with Andrew’s wife Sarah, [Duchess of York,] she plotted with Andrew to try to push Prince Charles aside so Prince Andrew could become regent to Prince William, who was then a teenager,” the insider claimed.
“His behavior was very, very negative and extremely unpleasant to Queen [Elizabeth], who disagreed. I was told it was one of the rare occasions he didn’t get his way,” the book reads.
“Nonetheless, he was apparently very angry that he couldn’t rule the country in some way. He remained so hostile to Camilla’s emergence and acceptance that it’s doubtful it has ever been forgiven.”
Levin said in the book that Andrew treated Camilla in a “very unpleasant” and “poisonous” manner because he allegedly believed she was unreliable.
Andrew, the disgraced prince and the relationship with his brother
According to rumors, Charles and Andrew have had a rocky relationship over the years, notably after the Duke of York had his military titles removed due to allegations of sexual abuse and connections to Jeffery Epstein.
He was not allowed to wear his military uniform even to his mother’s funeral.
The humiliated prince has made an effort to remain anonymous since losing his royal responsibilities, with the exception of his moving tribute to his late mother.
“Dear Mummy, Mother, Your Majesty, three in one. Your Majesty, it has been an honor and privilege to serve you,” Andrew said in his statement. “Mother – of the nation, your devotion and personal service to our nation is unique and singular; your people show their love and respect in so many different ways and I know you are looking on honoring their respect.”
“Mummy, your love for a son, your compassion, your care, your confidence I will treasure forever,” he added. “I have found your knowledge and wisdom infinite, with no boundary or containment.”
