Barcelona: French media claims Dembele’s release clause is just 50m euros

Ousmane Dembele had been expected to leave Barcelona when his previous contract expired in the summer of 2022, but the Frenchman put pen to paper on a new deal that’ll run until 2024.

However, it has been revealed that his release clause is only 50 million euros.

That’s according to French newspaper L’Equipe, who add that 50 percent of the sum would go to Dembele and his agents.

This arrangement was agreed because Dembele didn’t receive a signing bonus and his agents didn’t collect a large commission when the new contract was finalised with Barcelona.

Dembele has started the 2022/23 season very well, but now the football world knows that it wouldn’t cost too much to prize him away from the Camp Nou.
