Bayern Munich lost this weekend in the Bundesliga against Augsburg (0-1). The Bavarian club, defending champion, is currently 5th in the German championship, 5 points behind the leader, Union Berlin.
Arrived on the bench of Bayern Munich in the summer of 2021, Julian Nagelsmann is in the hard. If Oliver Kahn, the president of Bayern Munich, comforted the German coach, while accusing his players, this weekend, the facts are stubborn: the Bavarian giant is having its worst start to the season for 20 years. Under contract until 2026, Julian Nagelsmann could not finish the season with Bayern in the event of further poor performances in the coming weeks, reveals Picture.
A clause to dismiss Nagelsmann?
The German media claims that a clause would be in the contract of the young German (35 years old), passed by Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. This would allow Bayern Munich to part with their coach, after paying 25 million euros to recruit him in the summer of 2021. Picture does not specify what the contours of this clause are, but in all likelihood, it would allow Bayern Munich to save money, either for the coach’s salary (Julian Nagelsmann receives around 8 million euros annually), or for his transfer spread over several months.
To follow up, Picture evokes Thomas Tuchel. The 49-year-old German coach is now without a contract. Indeed, Thomas Tuchel was dismissed from his position at Chelsea in September 2022, after winning the Champions League with the Blues in May 2021, four months after his arrival at the club.
The former PSG coach has all the criteria that Bayern Munich wants for a coach, namely an ability to manage stars, a rich record and knowledge of the German championship. Thomas Tuchel has indeed trained in his native country for many years, in Augsburg, Mainz and Dortmund.
