Kanye West’s Donda Sports aims to compete with Nike and Adidas amid new trademarks

Kanye West doesn’t make idle threats, he vowed to compete against the two brands that both ignored him and underminded him as a creative mind. Nike was the first one and Kanye ended his relationship with them. After some very lucrative years for Adidas, they also couldn’t keep the rapper happy and he is not taking matters into his own hands through Donda Sports.

The brand that initially was aimed to represent pro athletes has taken a giant step towards competing against the two sports apparel giants. According to TMZ, Ye’s company Mascotte Holdings has filed new trademarks for apparel items. This means Kanye is keeping his promise as he aims to start selling his own shirts, jackets, hats, shoes, fanny packs, luggage, wallets, umbrellas, and blankets among other accesories.

Kanye West also gives birth to Dove Sports

In addition to these filed trademarks, Kanye West is also reado to trademark ‘Dove Sports. This is a label that will specifically be used for athletic services such as training sessions, competitions, tournaments, camps, seminars, field trips and even traditional educational frameworks, according to TMZ’s report.

In recent months, the rapper was known to have signed major pro athletes such as Antonio Brown and Aaron Donald from the NFL. Along with his first NBA player, Jaylen Brown. Donald himself spoke to the media back in May about this new opportunity and how much it means to him.

Here’s what Donald said about Donda Sports: “It was an opportunity that came to us, me and [my wife], and it made sense. Hearing the whole spectrum of what they were going to be bringing, the whole family atmosphere that they got in Donda Sports. Not just me, but my wife being a part of that.

“For me it was a no-brainer. I think it’s a helluva opportunity to open up a lot of different doors and a lot of different things outside of football that I wanna be involved in, that I wanna do, that my wife wanna do. So to be a part of that, and be one of the best first athletes to be a part of that, it’s pretty dope. We’re excited about it, and we’re gonna see where this thing goes.”
