Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will face each other in Las Vegas this weekend with all the super middleweight titles at stake, meaning the third bout of the trilogy is expected to go down in boxing history.
Both the two previous fights were of high intensity and that is why the Mexican boxer’s mother made a request to her son in order to avoid suffering during the bout.
“We’re going to win, we’re going to cheer him on, the whole family here is going to cheer him on,” Ana Maria Barragan told TV Azteca.
“I ask for a prayer and good vibes for my son. Long live Mexico and long live Guadalajara.
“I’m nervous, I know Canelo is going to win. I’m his mother and I’m nervous.
“I want him to give it all he has and to beat him early on because I don’t want to suffer”.
Like any mother, Barragan is confident that Canelo will do his homework and beat the Kazakh for the second time.
Meanwhile, there were no surprises at the weigh-in ceremony, as Canelo weighed in at 167.4 pounds, while his opponent weighed in at 167.8 pounds.
