Boxing: Zurdo Ramirez vs Dmitry Bivol: The reasons why the Mexican boxer assures the win

Mexican boxer Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez will fulfill one of his objectives, that of challenging the WBA semi-complete champion, Russian fighter Dmitry Bivol, in a fight that will be negotiated to take place this year.

The World Boxing Association (WBA) ratified on Wednesday Zurdo Ramirez as challenger to the 175 lbs. title, which fills with motivation to the Mexican fighter, who was grateful to Golden Boy Promotions, the company that will take him to this fight that he hopes to win.

Zurdo Ramirez’s confidence

“I’ve wanted to fight Bivol for years, I feel I can beat him and I’ve told my team. Since I came to Golden Boy I have had the desire and now I will be able to do it,” said Ramirez.

Bivol defended his title against Saul Alvarez and wanted to make a defense against Joshua Buatsi, but the WBA denied him permission and ratified Zurdo Ramirez as challenger, who is excited about the upcoming fight that he hopes will take place in the last quarter of 2022.

“I feel very happy to have the opportunity to fight for the title. Thanks to the WBA and its president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza for making the right decision,” commented Zurdo.

Golden Boy will negotiate to make the fight this year

Robert Diaz, matchmaker of Golden Boy Promotions, assured that they will start negotiations with Bivol’s representatives and that they hope to make the fight in December at the latest, confident that they will be able to make it.

Zurdo Ramirez wants to be a world champion in a second division, after being WBO super middleweight champion, a title he has defended five times, but he wants to add one more title and maintain his undefeated record of 44-0, 29 by knockout.
