Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation at Manchester United seems to be nearing a conclusion.
The Portuguese striker has been linked with clubs like Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, with Atletico Madrid and Sporting CP even mentioned as possible landing spots.
This is all because Ronaldo wants to leave United and play in the Champions League, something the Red Devils won’t be doing this season after finishing sixth and qualifying for the Europa League last season.
However, after all the aforementioned clubs turned down the chance to sign Ronaldo, it seems as though he will be staying in England.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of United’s Premier League opener against Brighton at Old Trafford, coach EriK ten Hag spoke bluntly on the matter.
“I am really happy he is here,” said Ten Hag. “We have a top striker. We stick to the plan.”
Those comments suggest Ronaldo’s future remains with United, as the end of the transfer window draws nearer.
