OAN: Brittney Griner is an America-hating lesbian pothead

One America News (OAN), the controversial cable channel, just had just had its last day, but still produced one final eye-catching headline as presenter Chanel Rion unleashed a rant about Brittney Griner.

WNBA star Griner is currently being held in custody in a Russian prison after she was arrested back in February when Russian customs officials allegedly found vape cartridges containing hashish oil in her luggage.

Since then, the US government has been trying to secure her release and there has been talk in the past week about a prisoner swap deal for her and for former US Marine Paul Whelam, in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, who is currently serving time in the USA and who is also known as the ‘Merchant of Death’.

The willingness to give up such a dangerous criminal has provoked criticism from many and Rion joined in, but turned it into a personal attack.

“Break out the hashtags, free Brittney, make a deal!” Rion started off by saying.

“Recall that Brittney Griner protested the American flag and anthem by telling the WNBA these hate symbols had no place in the WNBA.

“Oh, yeah. Griner is one of theirs, alright.

“So here’s what the geniuses at the Biden state department drummed up: a trade.

“A convicted Russian arms dealer, aka ‘Merchant of Death’, in exchange for an America-hating lesbian pothead.

“Oh, and as a bonus, throw in that Marine, too.

“How do you think the Russians are seeing this?

“That the Biden administration leapt into action for a woman who would spit on our flag and anthem but dragged its feet for a Marine who would die for that same flag and anthem, and they see nothing wrong with this?

“They say America is back? Pure delusion and denial.”

What is One America News?

One America News (OAN) was founded in 2013 by Robert Herring and rose in popularity alongside Donald Trump.

It was a very right wing cable channel that has now closed down, with Sunday, July 31, being the network’s last day on cable.

There are plans for it to carry on, but only via streaming services and the brand’s own app.
