Sue Bird makes history: No player has won more WNBA games than her

Sue Bird has celebrated her 324th career win on Wednesday when she became the player with the most victories in the history of the WNBA.

Bird surpassed Lindsay Whalen, with whom she had the same number of victories until Seattle Storm beat Las Vegas Aces 88-78.

In this very special game for her, Bird registered 13 points, two rebounds, six assists and two steals in 25 minutes.

“No one has won more than Sue Bird,” Seattle Storm wrote on Twitter.

“Congratulations to Sue for becoming the WNBA’s all-time leader in career wins!”

A four-time NBA champion and five-time Olympic gold medallist, Bird announced back in April that she will retire at the end of this season.

Before bidding farewell, Bird will be one of the co-captains in the WNBA All-Star Game, one which is scheduled to be take place in Chicago on July 10.
