Houston Dash appoints Juan Carlos Amoros as interim head coach

The Houston Dash have appointed Juan Carlos Amoros as the interim head coach.

He’s expected to join the NWSL team at the end of June, pending his visa approval. Until his arrival, Sarah Lowdon will remain as acting head coach.

Amoros replaces former manager and general manager James Clarkson, who was suspended amid an ongoing investigation reviewing “current and historic complaints of discrimination, harassment and abuse.”

The Spaniard is making his way to the NWSL after serving as the head coach of Real Betis Féminas from 2021 to 2022, where he led the European club to its longest unbeaten run in Spain’s top division.

“I am excited to join the Dash because I have seen the commitment to women’s soccer from owner Ted Segal and everyone at the organization,” Amorós said.
