While Red Bull have absolutely dominated the 2023 Formula 1 season so far, they’re not resting on their laurels and could implement further changes to the RB19 to make it even better.
Helmut Marko has discussed the team’s upgrade plans and also stated that the preferences of Max Verstappen will be prioritised.
“He’s rarely fully satisfied, but the car is more or less the way he likes it,” Marko stated in an interview with Formel1.
“There is also cooperation from the race engineers. It’s working better and better.
“There is a small change and this will also be in Max‘s interest.”
This suggests that the team may prioritise Verstappen and his preferences over those of his teammate Checo Perez.
Checo Perez aims for another Monaco Grand Prix win
After winning the Monaco Grand Prix last season, Checo Perez is keen to get back to the front of the grid in Monte-Carlo to give himself the best chance of winning this year’s race.
He was seventh in the second practice session and the Red Bulls are not quite as dominant in Monaco as they have been in other races.
It will be a fun Monaco Grand Prix qualifying session as all the drivers aim to start as high up the grid as possible at this circuit that is notoriously difficult to overtake on.
