Los Angeles Lakers superfan Jack Nicholson sat courtside at Crypto.com Arena on Monday for Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals in the 2023 NBA Playoffs and the home side once again took the victory in his presence.
Nicholson, 86, enjoyed the game alongside his son Ray, and sports announcer Jim Gray. The actor outshined other A-list celebrities in the building such as Chris Pratt and Kim Kardashian.
Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was also in the building to witness the Purple & Gold take a 3-1 series lead with a phenomenal performance from Lonnie Walker IV off the bench.
Walker, 24, had not been part of the rotation as of late, but playing in front of Nicholson might have inspired the young guard to make the most of his 27 minutes.
Last time Nicholson was in attendance for a Lakers game was April 28 when the team clinched its spot in the semis by eliminating the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 6.
Lakers couldn’t lose to Warriors in front of Jack
Prior to that occassion, Nicholson had not attended a Lakers game since their 2021 season opener, a loss to the Warriors.
If Golden State got the better of LA in front of Nicholson yet again, it would have been shameful.
He has enjoyed watching them since the Showtime Lakers and deserves their best effort in his presence.
By the way, the Asian lady who sits next to Nicholson and is reportedly his friend was, obviously, also in the building. She rarely misses any games, but like Jack, also had a bit of a layoff during the pandemic.
