Prince Harry takes up awkward role whilst William sits centre-stage at the King Charles’ coronation

There were some awkward scenes at the coronation of King Charles III when it came to the involvement of Prince Harry and Prince William, the sons of the new King.

Prince Harry made lots of headlines before the event as it has been known for some time that he will be attending the ceremony without his wife, Meghan Markle, as she is staying in the United States of America to celebrate the fourth birthday of their son, Archie.

Not only is Harry arriving alone, but he is also expected to be back in the air within two-three hours of the ceremony coming to an end. He could be back in California by early evening so that he can also celebrate his son’s birthday on the right day.

Harry’s clothing draws attention

He was wearing a standard suit rather than any special ceremonial clothing, such as the garments that William and Prince Andrew were wearing. He could be seen sat very far back in the seating area, wearing what many have described as ‘an awkward smile’.

He was in the third row and spent much of the build-up conversing with the likes of Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice and their respective husbands Jack Brooksbank and Edo Mapelli Mozzi.

Meanwhile, William and Kate were at the front row and got a huge amount of screen time. They and their children could be seen regularly partaking in the ceremony and William also had a more important role as he read an oath to his father, whilst kneeling in front of him.
