After its new disappointment against Lorient this Sunday (1-3), PSG continues to disappoint in Ligue 1. Symbol of this chronic decadence, Marco Verratti. The Italian midfielder is perhaps having his worst season with the capital club since arriving in 2012. What then are the reasons for the considerable drop in his level of play? The Parisian reveals some clues.

According to the French daily, the 30-year-old player had four extra pounds when he returned from post-World Cup vacation. The “Little Owl” would take too much freedom with his lifestyle. When competition resumed in January, he was therefore only able to participate in two outings (Strasbourg and Lens) before being injured. A new gap on the part of Verratti which could cost him dearly … or not given his immunity within PSG.
