FC Barcelona is heading straight for the title. The Catalans easily won against Real Betis this Saturday (4-0). A success facilitated by the exclusion of Edgar Gonzalez after only 30 minutes of play. A fact of the game which completely reshuffled the cards of the meeting. After the match in a press conference, the coach of the Sevillians, Manuel Pellegrini, was offended by this decision of the referee.
“I think it is important to clarify the yellow card. It is a yellow card due to the criteria of the referee in the first case. But I’ll tell you what happened: the referee twice said it wasn’t a yellow card, until he changed his mind. It’s either VAR or the fourth official… I don’t know why he changed his mind on that second yellow card. (…). The expulsion is absurd, unjustifiable, a disgrace. He said twice that it wasn’t a second card and then he took it out. A great lack of personality. He was devoured by the atmosphere. 70,000 people came to see a show and there was none because of the lack of personality of the referee”.
