Boxing: Gervonta Davis perfectly predicted his seventh-round KO of Ryan Garcia

Gervonta “Tank” Davis knocked out Ryan Garcia in the seventh round Saturday at T-Mobile Arena, just like he had predicted days earlier, proving that the undefeated fighter had his gameplan studied to a tee.

Davis, 28, started off slow in the two opening rounds, but only needed one huge blow to knock down Garcia in the second frame, the first of the night.

Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis are confirm they will their entire purse on the fight

After studying Garcia, he controlled rounds two to five, and eventually landed the kidney strike to seal the victory. It was a master class in counter-attacking, positioning and awareness, just like he had stated.

“[I’ll knock Garcia out] in the seventh or eighth round,” Davis said. “Eighth round. Seventh or eighth round. Because I’ll figure him out a little bit.”

Garcia, 24, looked scared of Tank’s power after the second-round knockdown and was too defensive throughout the remainder of the night.

Will Ryan Garcia keep his money from Gervonta Davis fight?

A few days prior to the bout, Garcia and Davis appeared on an Instagram Live alongside Twitch streamer Kai Cenat, and placed the entire fight purse on the line.

Days later, Garcia backed out of the wager, saying that even if he defeated Davis, he wouldn’t feel right taking his money.

While reports vary, Davis is guaranteed $5 million, and Garcia will take half of that despite the loss.

The incredible KO was reminiscent of when Bernard Hopkins knocked out Oscar De La Hoya in 2004.
