Canelo Alvarez suffered a major injury before facing Dmitry Bivol and Gennady Golovkin and had to undergo surgery on his left hand to fix the problem. A few weeks before fighting John Ryder, the world champion said he was ready and without any setback to face the British fighter.
Alvarez commented has said that the defeat against the Bivol and the regular performance against the GGG was due to the fact that he could not train at 100%, but that has changed as he’s been able to train without any problem, confirming people will see one of his best versions in the ring.
Canelo underwent left-hand surgery after his fight against Gennady Golovkin in September
“Very well (without injuries), that motivates me a lot, I am available to train at 100%, to hit with my left hand, before with the experience there you go out training, fights with only one hand, but now having the opportunity to be at 100% motivates me a lot. The left hand normally, out of every ten punches you throw six, you need a lot,” Canelo told TUDN.
“ I feel very good, strong, eager, and motivated, which is very important in my career. Where I got tired, I didn’t have the availability to train at one hundred percent, to train explosively with my hands, with sacks, and that’s why what happened happened, obviously I put in that extra, and training here at high altitude helps me a lot,” Canelo concluded.
Canelo sees Gervonta Davis as the winner against Ryan Garcia
Garcia will face Gervonta Davis this April 22, a very difficult fight for both, but Canelo already has a winner.
“I think this fight should be won by Davis. He has better skills and knows how to move very well in the ring, but he must be careful because Ryan is a very dangerous guy and anything can happen,” Canelo commented to the media.
