The 19-year-old prodigy has had an impressive season, contributing 17 goals in 49 games. His performances for the German club and the England national team have not failed to attract interest from the giants of European football.
Nonetheless, affording Bellingham could prove costly. Rumors point to a request from Dortmund of around 150 million euros. This sum seems to have cooled Liverpool, which would direct its search for other players to strengthen its workforce.
Real Madrid on pole to welcome him, City on the lookout
Manchester United, who had already tried to sign Bellingham in 2020, would again show interest. Erik ten Hag, his coach, is looking to improve the team for next season. However, Sky Sports report that Manchester United are unwilling to enter a bidding war for the young midfielder.
The English club would prefer to focus on other positions, including a centre-forward and a right-back. In addition, Man United know that clubs such as Manchester City and Real Madrid have substantial budgets to afford Bellingham.
Also according to the outlet, Real Madrid are the favorites in the race to sign the young Englishman. To convince Bellingham to come, the Spanish club would highlight his record in the Champions League and his ambition to make him the best player in the world.
Manchester City would nevertheless remain a serious competitor for the Merengues. The formation of Pep Guardiola is able to bet big to secure his services. But beware, because it is under threat of a sanction by the Premier League: the Citizens would have committed major financial offenses.
Meanwhile, the Stourbridge native has 10 goals and 7 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions this season.
