Trae Young is believed to be overrated according to a couple of fellow NBA players after for the second season in a row, The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Josh Robbins, conducted an anonymous poll with 54 current NBA players, with the Atlanta Hawks star being in the critical eye this time.
Young received 14.8% of the votes and is the player, from the 17 listed, that received the most votes, behind “the other” category which received 31.5% of the votes.
The Hawks player received eight votes, with no other player having received more than four.
What has happened with Trae Young?
It’s been a couple of rough seasons since Trae Young was a prominent figure of the Atlanta Hawks reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, with the past two seasons having ended in the first round of the playoffs, needing to secure their spot through the play-in tournament on both of the past two years.
Young is an astonishingly 8-49 shooting from beyond the three point line in his past seven postseason games before tonight’s loss against the Celtics, averaging just 15.5 points a game and shooting a low 31% from the field.
