Canelo Alvarez vs John Ryder will happen on May 6th in Guadalajara, Mexico and while both fighters are preparing for the fight, Oscar de la Hoya made some serious assertations as he named who he believes will be an unbeatable rival for Canelo Alvarez.
De la Hoya believes that Bivol is an unbeatable opponent for Canelo.
Canelo Alvarez has said on more than one occasion that he hopes to make this year’s rematch against Dmitry Bivol, the fighter who defeated him last year when he met him at 175 pounds.
De la Hoya gave Bivol his vote of confidence as he believes in a possible rematch against Bivol, the Russian fighter will come out on top. “He will never beat him,” said De la Hoya forcefully in an interview with Fight Hype.

The ‘Golden Boy’ focused on the technical issues when talking about Bivol’s advantages over Canelo and mention it was all about style.
“Styles make the fights. Believe me,” he expressed. “We don’t know what happened to the referee,” he expressed ironically regarding the fact that the referee should have stopped the actions that night, due to Bivol’s big advantage over Canelo.
Dmitry Bivol wants to fight Canelo at 168 pounds, says his manager: “He doesn’t want any more excuses“.
It seems that Canelo will not get the desired rematch as he thought, as Dmitry Bivol’s manager, Vadim Kornilov, told Little Giant Boxing that the WBA light heavyweight champion wants to move down in weight for a possible fight against Alvarez.
This is due to the fact that the Russian doesn’t want Canelo to have any more excuses while having all of the titles on the line makes it attractive.
“Bivol already beat him. He’s not that motivated and it’s really not that big of a challenge for him. So they have to meet certain terms that we’re asking for, and one of those terms right now is that Bivol wants to fight him at 168.”
Meanwhile, Canelo has expressed his desire to move up to the 175-pound weight class once again to have a rematch with Bivol, wanting to silence all of his detractors.
