A few days ago, the first season of ‘The Last of Us’ officially ended, with a magnificent ninth episode full of references to the original video game.
With this, HBO Max has continued to establish itself as one of the best streaming platforms in terms of its own shows, as almost everything it touches turns to gold.
The platform has won fans over even more because they have shared some bonus content.
The next season wasn’t supposed to come out until mid-to-late 2024 and, aware of how long the wait was going to be, HBO wanted to reward the more than eight million viewers of the series with an extra episode of the first season, which functions as a documentary of the series.
‘The Last of Us’ new documentary episode
The documentary, entitled ‘Making of The Last of Us’, is 31 minutes long and tells the story of the filming of the first season in front of and behind the cameras, with the appearance of the cast, directors and other members of the filming crew.
Of course, the actors of the series have a special relevance in the documentary, namely Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), Gabriel Luna (Tommy), Anna Torv (Tess), Merle Dandridge (Marlene), Rutina Wesley (Maria), Ashley Johnson (Anna), Jeffrey Pierce (Perry) and Storm Reid (Riley).
Meanwhile, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, directors of the video game and the adaptation, spoke a few days ago on the official podcast of the series to give some hints about the second season:
“Moments and characters can stay the same or change,” they said.
“We’ll do whatever it takes to move the story from one medium to the other.
“We’ll also take advantage of the freedom we have in television that didn’t exist in the game, namely the advantage of changing perspective.
“So we’ll use what we can use in a new medium to tell that story and we’ll go through the same process of adaptation.
“It’s us again and there will be Peter and there will be Belle. And there will be blood.”
