Jon “Bones” Jones (27-1-0, 1 NC) is the new UFC heavyweight undisputed champion of the world following a first-round victory over Ciryl “Bon Gamin” Gane (11-2-0) Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in the main event of UFC 258.
Jones, 35, made Gane tap out at the 2:04 mark of the opening frame to win the title belt in his heavyweight debut three years after his last fight.
Gane, 32, kicked Jones in the nether region less than 10 seconds into the contest, leading to an official timeout that lasted nearly half-a-minute.
Jones then took Gane to the ground and made his heavyweight opponent tap out with an easy choke.
In his postfight interview with Joe Rogan, Jones called out his next opponent, Stipe Miocic.
