Very marked by the elimination of Olympique de Marseille against FC Annecy at the Orange Vélodrome (2-2, 6-7 pens), last Wednesday in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, Alexis Sanchez also settled on his personal situation. Invited on Friday to face the media alongside his coach Igor Tudor, two days before the match of the 26th day of Ligue 1 at Stade Rennais, the Chilean striker was invited to talk about his future.

13 TCC goals

Landed last summer on the Canebière following his free departure from Inter Milan, the 34-year-old player is under contract until next June with the Olympians, plus an additional year as an option. Author of 13 goals in 31 matches in all competitions, including 9 achievements in 22 league games, does the native of Tocopilla think of staying in the Bouches-du-Rhône? The former Barcelona man was much less adamant about his intentions than in a recent interview, at Sky Italia.

“We will see according to the results”

“I really want to stay here. I am here to win titles. I’m not interested in being second, third, fourth, qualifying for the Champions League. I want to be champion (…) I always wanted to win, I always won in my career. We will see according to the results”warns Marseille number 70, who clearly sets a condition following his career in France.

After its pitiful exit from the road in the Coupe de France, Olympique de Marseille will have to bounce back in 48 hours on Breton soil with a view to European qualification. Second eight behind Paris Saint-Germain, the Phocaeans are only two points ahead of AS Monaco and Racing Club de Lens.
