Boxing: Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs John Ryder could be announced in the next 48 hours, per Eddie Hearn

After a lot of speculation about his return, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s return to the ring is about to be confirmed for next May in Jalisco, Mexico against John Ryder, after Eddie Hearn’s words on DAZN Boxing Show.

“Conversations are ongoing with Saul and Eddy Reynoso, and John Ryder is the guy. Contracts are going backwards and forwards and we hope that in the next 48 hours, we’ll be in a good position to get that fight done,” the promoter expressed.

Canelo will fight once again in his home town

With the anniversary of Jalisco’s foundation, the state to which Guadalajara, the birthplace of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez belongs, the boxer has selected the city for his next fight, with an undercard that could include other world title fights.

“Obviously, Canelo has announced that May 6th will be the historic event in Guadalajara, which will be just an incredible event for the country and for Canelo Alvarez.”

John Ryder isn’t confirmed, but Eddie Hearn insists he’s Canelo’s next rival

“We hope that will be John Ryder. He’s the mandatory challenger. He’s the interim champion for the WBO. So fingers crossed, we’ll get that all wrapped up. Everything is looking great, and hopefully, we’ll have some positive news later in the week,” Hearn expressed.
