Newcastle predicted lineup vs Man Utd

Newcastle United will look to break one of English football’s longest trophy droughts when they face Manchester United in the final of the Carabao Cup.

The Magpies’ last major trophy (which wasn’t the defunct Inter Cities Fairs Cup) came in 1955, giving Eddie Howe and his charges the chance to truly kick off the club’s new era in groundbreaking style.

Here’s who Howe could pick to walk out at Wembley on Sunday.

On this week’s edition of TFP, Chelsea legend Joe Cole joins Harry Symeou, Grizz Khan, Scott Saunders and Hunter Godson to discuss all the UEFA Champions League action from midweek, as well as look ahead to this weekend’s biggest fixtures. GK: Loris Karius – Thanks to Nick Pope’s incredible red card last week and Martin Dubravka’s prior involvement with Man Utd this season, Karius is in line to make his Newcastle debut on the biggest stage.

RB: Kieran Trippier – The boyhood Man Utd fan will be hoping to break Mancunian hearts on Sunday.

CB: Fabian Schar – His resurgence over the last couple of seasons has been a great example of how Howe has improved plenty of players.

CB: Sven Botman – A long-term Newcastle target who has been worth every penny since his summer arrival from Lille.

LB: Dan Burn – The chance to go from cult hero to real hero awaits for Big Dan Burn.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – Back from suspension, Guimaraes recently told The Players’ Tribune that he wants to become a Newcastle legend.

CM: Sean Longstaff – His brace against Southampton helped Newcastle book their place in the final.

CM: Joe Willock – Back in training following an injury but it’ll be touch-and-go whether he can start.

RW: Miguel Almiron – Rewarded with a new contract for his superb season in the week leading up to the final.

CF: Callum Wilson – Turns 31 on Monday. He’d probably prefer to wake up for his birthday hungover from winning celebrations.

LW: Joelinton – Likely to be shifted out wide if Willock can play from the off.
