Jabari Smith Jr.: I would beat Michael Jordan one on one

Jabari Smith Jr. has sent a special message to Michael Jordan. The Houston Rockets rookie wished happy birthday to the NBA legend, who turns 60, and claimed that he could beat him in a one-on-one.

Smith Jr, who was selected by the Rockets with the third overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, has travelled to Salt Lake City to participate in the All-Star Weekend.

“How old is he?” Smith wondered when asked by a reporter if he could beat Jordan.

“He’s not beating me right now, no. I’m gonna beat him… Happy birthday, MJ. I’m beating you in one-on-one right now. For sure. A thousand percent.

“He might make something. He’s not beating me for sure. If a 60-year-old beat me, I need to hang it up.”

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant had previously claimed that he would get the better off the Chicago Bulls legend if he had the opportunity to play in the NBA back in the 1990s.

“I wish I would’ve played in [Jordan’s] generation, though,” Morant said.

“Just how he go about the game, that mindset he had. I would like to play against him. I would’ve cooked him, too.

“Nobody got more confidence than 12. I’m never go and say nobody going to beat me in one-on-one or anything.”
