Arriving at PSG, Luis Campos was eagerly awaited for the Paris transfer window. But the recruitment of the capital club turned into a fiasco, especially this winter when no one joined the ranks of Christophe Galtier despite his many active leads. Failures that could be explained by financial constraints related to financial fair play.
Arrived at PSG to replace Leonardo and take care of the transfer window, Luis Campos saw great hopes placed in him. It must be said that the Portuguese has a good reputation in Europe, that of a formidable talent spotter. Everyone therefore expected a lot from him in the recruitment of PSG. However, Luis Campos disappointed. Its summer recruits are struggling to really impose themselves. And this winter he did not attract anyone to the capital, despite his notable interest in Rayan Cherki and hakim ziyech after the departure of Pablo Sarabia. The transfer window of PSG turned into a fiasco this season. But the Parisian football adviser might not be totally responsible for this failure.

Financial fair play has plagued PSG
As reported RMC Sports, Luis Campos would have been held back by financial fair play in his transfer window. Last summer like this winter, the Parisian football adviser would not have been completely free to organize the recruitment of the PSG because of possible sanctions. Last September, after the summer transfer window, he also explained that he had restricted himself because of the economic aspect.
“The priority was the economic filter, for me it is very clear”
” PSG has an obligation to ensure financial fair play, which is complex. We have taken complex measures. We put a different model. The economy and the sportsman must walk together, it is obligatory. We are a football club, the economic filter should not condition the sports filter. The priority was the economic filter, for me it is very clear. When the club thinks about sport and forgets about economics, it’s a disaster. The opposite is the same » confided Luis Campos at the microphone of RMC. This would explain why the PSG failed in many folders during both windows of transfers.
