Forbes magazine just dropped the 10 highest earning entertainers around the globe during 2022 and only one woman made the list, with music performers taking most of the spots in the list.
Filmmakers and TV creators also join the list that managed to secure over $1.35 billion dollars during the 12 months of the year.
10.- Bad Bunny / $88 million
The Puerto Rican singer and rapper had two world tours with “El Ultimo Tour del Mundo” and “World’s Hottest Tour,” selling over $400 million worth of box office sales.
He has endorsement deals with Adidas, Cheetos and Corona among many others.
9.- Taylor Swift / $92 million
Guess taking all Top-10 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 list with a single album release sheds light that Taylor Swift had a great financial year, despite most of her earnings were boosted by her previously released songs.
She’s the only woman to appear in the Top-10 highest earning entertainers list this year.
8.- James Cameron / $95 million
James Cameron’s release of the movie “Avatar: The Way of Water” at the end of the year earned him at least $95 million continuing his legacy as one of the highest earning and grossing directors of all time.
7.- The Rolling Stones / $98 million
The legendary rock band led by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, The Rolling Stones, did a European tour last year that made over $8.5 million dollars per night, playing in 15 cities during their “Sixty” tour around the continent.
6.- Brad Pitt / $100 million
Brad Pitt appeared on three films this past year: “Bullet Train,” “Babylon” and “The Lost City.”
He also earned above nine figures thanks to his deal selling the majority of his production company, Plan B Entertainment.
5.- James L. Brooks and Matt Groening / $105 million
Even after having over 25 seasons “The Simpsons” continue to be a staple in American TV and a must watch show for every generation.
Matt Groening and James L. Brooks, the creators of the hit TV comedy show earned at least $100 million during 2022, given that Forbes reported that “The Simpsons” transitioning to Disney+ gives them $105 million dollars each year.
4.- Trey Parker and Matt Stone / $160 million
The two “South Park” creaters secured a deal for $160 million for the show to sign with Paramount+ in 2021, with the deal being worth a total $935 million over the following six years, which includes 14 exclusive and original “South Park” movies over that span for the platform.
3.- Tyler Perry / $175 million
Tyler Perry is a writer, actor, director and producer that owns several backlot sets in Atlanta and projects created for BET and is the richest celebrity on this list, being the only billionaire as well.
2.- Sting / $210 million
Sting and The Police sold their music catalog to Universal Music Group last year, with Sting having left with $210 million after fees from the sale.
1.- Genesis / $230 million
Phil Collins and his bandmates at Genesis sold the right to a part of their song catalog to Concord Music Group a few months ago in $300 million dollars, which included Phil Collins hit song “In the Air Tonight” among many other hits.
